I like how they call it Asset Based Community Driven development. Thanks to Andre from the Centre for Appropriate Technology for passing it on. There is a bit more about the exercise below, but first a bit about the communities. As the 21st century unfolds, climate change will look different for everyone. We’re pretty familiar at this point with photos of polar bears riding around on miniscule rafts of ice, and though we can imagine what the social outcomes of climate change will be for humans, these seem far away part of some sort of environmental disaster film or dystopian novel. But in some parts of the world, increased climate variability is changing people’s lives right now and it’s affecting everyone differently, even men and women living in the same communities..
The part Cajun Jerilee narrated a funny story of a cricket which turned out to be an old travel alarm clock in the end. It was hilarious. But it is pretty scary in the case of Barga. Athens was the place to go for plays too. The city put on a drama festival called the Dionysia in honour of the god Dionysus. He was the god of the theatre and wine.

Recent “films” posted to the popular online video sharing site include:This film is designed to demonstrate the sportswear company’s commitment to the economic betterment of women and girls in developing countries. (Nike and its vendors have been accused of exploiting labor in poor nations such as Vietnam and Indonesia.)Starbucks Invests in Farmer’s CommunitiesThere’s nothing quite like happy people in bright native headgear picking coffee beans in the shadows of Kilimanjaro and enjoying water from a new plantation funded cistern to take attention off the fact that the about only people getting rich off of Starbucks coffee are the company’s execs and coffee plantation owners.Whole Foods’ “Whole Earth Generation” SeriesAmong other things, like buying its organic produce and all natural turkey jerky, Whole Foods would very much like it if you would convert your diesel vehicle to run on used vegetable oil.
The particular blend of personality that goes into your brand needs to balance these two elements. If Nike’s personality was too exclusive to the point only Olympic athletes felt comfortable using, all other customers would be alienated. Conversely, if Nike was about people who got out jogging once a month, there wouldn’t be much appeal in it.
