But I believe that if you would like society to be colorblind, you should strive to be colorblind yourself, not highlighting our differences.CarouselOnFire 6 points submitted 13 days agoI don’t advocate for “colorblindness” at all. I think highlighting our differences is important and if we choose to ignore differences we silence key attributes that make us uniquely who we are today. You can choose to look at it however you choose my intent behind my comment remains to promote awareness for positive contributions that people outside of the norm provide to our society, rather than focusing on ignoring the obstacles that they have had to uniquely overcome (primarily systematic, institutional racism) to achieve great feats. It is empowering to overcome odds, especially in a space (gymnastics) where whiteness / individuals of European descent have historically been the marker for what success looks like.I think we’re both on the same page here just looking st it from two different angles. I see and appreciate your angle.
Although, we don’t know whether that’s related to this. But I think there will be a lot of relief on the part of ordinary Iraqis, who never liked this foreign extremist coming into their midst. They resented it deeply.. If you’ve been watching Durant on a stay or go scale all season, you can’t deny that the needle is stuck on stay right now. There’s still time for that to change, but even if the Thunder is eliminated by Golden State, you’d have to think Durant has already received an encouraging answer to the question of whether he can still win a championship in Oklahoma City. Sam Presti, the team’s general manager, has done an impressive job maintaining a franchise that could have gone awry after it was unwilling to meet Harden’s max contract demands..
First, start looking for scholarships as soon as possible. Some programs require you to apply even before you are a senior, and many require you to apply early in your senior year. These applications take time, and if you do not qualify, you are wasting your time.
They have represented Asia really well and anyone complaining about fair play being used is a bit silly, in my opinion the alternative is a coin toss (how is that any better). Senegal are going home, but they played some decent soccer/football. A lot of people have been praising how entertaining they are, but they kind of lack organization and discipline and mostly are still just a physical team and their technical ability is lagging behind a bit..
